The Hunter House Victorian Museum is the headquarters for a local chapter of the Victorian Society in America. Named for the youngest daughter of the Hunter family and the founder of the museum, the Eloise Hunter Chapter, Victorian Society in America was founded in Norfolk in 1990. 

Annually the chapter meets approximately 6 times during the year for a series of lectures, excursions and social events. Recent programs have covered the history and collecting of buttons, Thomas Sully’s portraiture of Queen Victoria, a day trip to the Eastern Shore for museum visits and antiquing, a weekend excursion to Old Towne Alexandria for architectural tours and antiquing (we are always antiquing!), a costumed dinner at the popular Freemason Abbey Restaurant and “sitting” for John Singer Sargent.

Membership is based upon the calendar year. Dues are $15 per person; $20 for a family.
