The Hunter House Victorian Museum is the headquarters for a local chapter of the Victorian Society in America. Named for the youngest daughter of the Hunter family and the founder of the museum, the Eloise Hunter Chapter, Victorian Society in America was founded in Norfolk in 1990.
The chapter meets approximately 6 times during the year for a series of lectures, excursions and social events. Recent programs have included a Downton Abbey themed tea, a one-man performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, walking tours of historic Norfolk and Portsmouth, visits to local antique shops, and a series of Victorian-inspired lectures.
Membership is based upon the calendar year. Dues are $15 per person; $20 for a family. Payment is accepted in the form of cash or personal check.
